The Whispers collection captures fleeting, intimate moments frozen in time—messages left on foggy windows that fade but never fully disappear. These words are like echoes from the past, passing through misty veils, carrying secrets, wishes, and emotions that hover between presence and memory. Each piece in the collection tells a story, revealing a glimpse of what was or what could have been, embodying the transient nature of thoughts and the delicate beauty of the unspoken. It's about the fragility of moments that vanish yet linger in the heart, like a breath against glass that fades with warmth but leaves an impression on the soul.

Hazel is a 24x36 inch painting on commission for Alethea

For her latest paintings of highly colourful women with crowns, Elizabeth draws on iconic artists of the 20th century: Henri Matisse and Frida Kahlo. Like Matisse, she focused on the beauty of simple shapes, bold colors, and expressive lines. And, like Kahlo, Elizabeth found inspiration in exploring the female form and the more severe emotions that come with it. The women depicted in these images, are not smiling. They are at peace with being able to exist in the world, without putting on the front of a contant happiness for others enjoyment.

“There is nothing more difficult for a truly creative painter than to paint a rose, because before he can do so he has first to forget all the roses that were ever painted.” – Henri Matisse
