    Although the birdlife can look muted in New Zealand there is always an abundance of colour when captured in the right light. Elizabeth’s paintings aim to emphasize that striking colour in her paintings, and show the captivating rainbow on display.
     
    This set of paintings draws inspirating from the Kokako, Tui, Kereru and Korimako, as well as the Kowhai tree to portray our Native birds as you might view a portrait. They aim to connect the human viewer with the birds, by giving the birds a personified and regal outlook. The different aspect than when it is existing in its usual place in nature.
